Star 1: Fort Dearborn, built in 1803, destroyed in the War of 1812, rebuilt in 1816, and decommissioned in 1837,
Star 2: The Great Chicago Fire of 1871, which destroyed 17,000 buildings over two days,
Star 3: The World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893, and
Star 4: The Century of Progress Exposition of 1933–34.
